Cookie and browser storage policy

What cookies and browser storage Prevsi uses, why we use them, and how you can control them at any time.

  • Effective October 1, 2026
  • Last updated October 1, 2026

Overview

Prevsi uses a minimal set of first-party cookies and browser storage to keep the website working, remember your language and privacy choices, and secure your patient session.

We never use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking pixels or data-broker scripts, and we never share protected health information (PHI) with analytics tools.

Essential cookies and storage (always active)

These items are strictly necessary to deliver the site and protect your account:

  • NEXT_LOCALE (first-party cookie): remembers your chosen language (English, Español or Français) across visits.
  • Session authentication storage (sessionStorage): holds your signed-in session state in the current browser tab and is cleared automatically when you sign out.
  • prevsi.privacy.consent and prevsi.privacy.analytics (localStorage): records whether you chose Essential only or Analytics on the cookie banner or the Your privacy choices page.

Optional analytics (off by default)

Analytics is turned off by default for every visitor. It only runs if you explicitly choose "Accept all" in the cookie banner or turn on Analytics on the Your privacy choices page.

When enabled, analytics helps us understand aggregate page visits on public pages so we can improve clarity and performance. It is never active on enrollment or patient portal clinical screens and never receives health information.

Global Privacy Control (GPC)

If your browser or device sends a Global Privacy Control signal (Sec-GPC: 1), Prevsi honors it automatically, keeps optional analytics off, and suppresses the cookie banner.

Audited third-party SDKs

  • Amazon Web Services (Cognito & API): first-party authentication and encrypted data transport in the United States.
  • Aikido Security badge (on the Security page): static status badge showing continuous code and cloud security auditing.
  • OnRaven webchat widget: customer support chat launcher for general questions. Do not share sensitive health details in public support chat; clinical messaging happens inside your authenticated patient portal.

How to manage your choices

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time on the Your privacy choices page, where your selection takes effect immediately. You can also clear or block cookies in your browser settings.
